William Salt Library Collection

Access to the William Salt Library collection will be limited until it moves into the History Centre in spring/summer 2025.

The collections are currently in temporary storage while we wait for our newly built Strong Rooms to dry out and reach optimum conditions; this will help us to care for and preserve this special collection.

We will do our best to meet requests, however, we may not be able to provide all requested items. Key reference works are available in our Research Room. 

Please note that we currently require 7 days’ notice to produce items from this collection and that there is a limit of 6 items per request.
