Boolean Search (AND, OR, NOT)
You can use Boolean searching to narrow your results.
AND: If you search ‘railway AND station’, only entries with both words will appear in the results. Boolean AND is the default, so ‘railway station’ will generate the same results.
OR: If you search ‘railway OR station’, the results will be for entries that include one or the other. You will probably get more hits and they will be less targeted. They might include, for example, references to a railway carriage or police station.
NOT: ‘Railway NOT station’ will search for railway but exclude entries with the term station.
Note: Boolean terms (AND, OR, NOT) must be spelt with capital letters.
