- Administrative History: Colwich is an ancient parish, in existence since the medieval period. It included the chepelry of Fradwell, until that was made that was separated as an ecclesiastical parish in 1851 and separate civil parish in 1866. Colwich parish boundaries were altered in 1848 when the parish of Hixon was created, and again in 1854 when the neighbouring parish of Great Haywood was created.
