- Administrative History: Bagnall was originally a chapelry in the parish of Stoke upon Trent St Peter, but in 1716, together with the chapelry of Bucknall, helped to form the new parish of Bucknall St Mary. In 1736 the chapelry of Bagnall was established as a separate parish, but this separate existence did not last long, as it was reunited with Bucknall to form the parish of Bucknall cum Bagnall. Its current status is a District Church of Bucknall-cum-Bagnall Bucknall St. Mary.
