- Administrative History: Denstone civil parish was formed in 1866 from the township of Denstone-in-Alton in Alton ancient parish. The parish council was established in 1894. In 1896 there was an exchange of territory with Rocester civil parish, and in 1934 the entire area of the civil parish of Prestwood was gained.
