- Administrative History: The civil parish of Curborough and Elmhurst was formed in 1866 from the township of the same name in the ancient parish of Lichfield St Chad. The parish council was established in 1894. Later abolished c.1983 and merged with the Parish Council for Farewell and Chorley.
